Boston, MA, August 13,
2001 GeneEd, Inc., a leader in advanced e-Learning
solutions for the life science industry, today announced a major
distribution agreement with International Business Communications
(IBC) for worldwide distribution of GeneEd's e-Learning courseware.
GeneEd and IBC made the announcement today at
Drug Discovery Technology 2001 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Under terms of the agreement, IBC will resell
GeneEd's entire life science suite of courseware. Additionally,
GeneEd and IBC will develop and co-brand products focused on key
areas in life science including microarrays, proteomics and pharmacogenomics.
"GeneEd's courseware will provide a critical new
component to IBC's life sciences conferences and seminars," said
Barry Giordano, VP of Sales and Marketing at GeneEd. "The partnership
further demonstrates IBC's commitment to 'blended learning', a combination
of live seminars, conferences and e-Learning courseware designed
to complement, support and enrich the overall learning experience.
Through the use of GeneEd's patented Repurposing Engine™, the most
relevant topics will be transformed into dynamic, web-delivered,
interactive courseware, available anytime, anywhere."
"The partnership between GeneEd and IBC reflects
today's progress in information technology resulting in new avenues
for traditional 'conference-based' learning," said James Wagner,
Director of Life Sciences at IBC. "We will now be able to deliver
not only the traditional face-to-face conference experience, but
also new learning formats that preserve the longevity of the information.
This also allows us to employ new methods of distribution of the
content through the Internet and other means."
IBC joins a growing list of leading companies
using GeneEd to provide e-Learning solutions to their customers,
including IBM Life Sciences, Celera Genomics, Incyte Genomics, Glaxo
SmithKline, SC Biosciences (Sumitomo Corp.) and Bio-Rad.
The GeneEd e-Learning
Experience
GeneEd's web-delivered life science courses are built on and deployed
from its powerful e-Learning platform, which allows for rich interactivity
and engaging content via any standard Web-browser over connections
as slow as 36.6 kbs. GeneEd's e-Learning platform also allows for
the integration of e-tutor support throughout every course, all
via the Web. GeneEd's learning management tools provide tracking
and reporting on groups of users, as well as an individual user.
GeneEd's e-Learning platform easily integrates with third-party
learning management systems and other enterprise software applications
that are AICC/SCORM-compliant.
