GeneEd's Repurposing Engine (patent
pending) and Viewing Engine (patent pending)
GeneEd has developed novel, proprietary
software and database tools for creating award winning, compelling,
e-learning. These tools, collectively known as the Repurposing
and Viewing engines, allow us to take content in a variety
of formats (Word files, PowerPoint documents, PDF files, CD-ROMS,
binders, manuals, etc.) and manage, process and extract knowledge
from this heterogeneous content.
The Repurposing Engine consists of
a collaborative process whereby intelligent templates,
storybooks, objectives, prerequisites, quizzes and final
assessments are compiled, processed, and restructured
as "knowledge objects" stored in a content management
system.
These objects are then used to search a
digital asset management database that extracts suitable graphics,
animations, case-studies, and story-boards that are the critical
elements of interactive e-learning. Once lessons have been created,
they may be compiled a priori or "on-the-fly" to create
modules, courses, and even entire curricula, using the Viewing Engine.
The latter technology creates custom interfaces from SCORM-conformant
learning objects, configurable for the expert, intermediate or new
user.
An example of a finished e-learning course,
presented via the Viewing Engine, is presented below.
