About the Learning Management System
GeneEd delivers its courseware via a customizable Learning Management
System (LMS). Our courses can be hosted on our own servers or we
can make a custom instance of the LMS for a particular client. This specification
sheet describes the technical needs for clients interested in hosting
their own LMS.
Hardware Requirements:
Minimum Configuration (for system hosting under 100 courses with under
10 concurrent user connections):
- Celeron 1.5 Ghz CPU
- 2.5 GB free disk space (20 MB per course average)
- 256 MB available memory (1 GB per 50 concurrent connections average)
- T1 line or equal upstream/downstream bandwidth
Recommended Configuration:
- Multiprocessor/multicore CPU configuration
- 100 GB free disk space on RAID1/5
- 1 GB available memory
- T3, bundled T1 or equal upstream/downstream bandwidth
Course Requirements:
- SCORM 1.2 and above or AICC packaging
Software Requirements:
Linux:
• Linux kernel 2.6 and above
• Apache web server
• MySQL 4.1.12 or later, PostgreSQL 7.4 or later database servers
• PHP5 package with all necessary packages to integrate PHP with
database servers and Apache
Microsoft Windows:
- Windows 2000/2003/XP operating systems
- IIS or Apache for Windows web servers
- MySQL 4.1.12 or later, PostgreSQL 7.4 or later, MS SQL 2005 or later
database servers
